Kicking off Mega Agent Camp Wednesday morning with the powerful message that “Success is all about tapping the transformative power created by focusing on what matters most,” Gary Keller, co-founder and chairman of Keller Williams Realty, talked about what it takes to “burst through ceilings and get set up for unlimited potential.

On the mobile real estate panel at Mega Tech, the focus was on growth and client expectations. The panel was led by KW’s Cary Sylvester and featured Max Pigman, vice president of REALTOR.com and Top Producer Systems, Rudy Bachraty, Social Media Guru with Trulia.com and Curt Warner, CEO of Platinum Sales Systems.
The group explained that, when choosing between a mobile optimized site and application, you have to consider your customer. Applications build brand loyalty, appeal to new and current smart phone users, while mobile sites provide greater reach, no download/no waiting and no third party approval.
Pigman stated that they see a lot of agents using an office number as a main contact for Websites. In a mobile society, this isn’t the best strategy-it should go right to your cell phone and should be answered. He suggested having an action phone-so someone always is there to answer, even if you pass it around to your team. Bachraty added that Trulia is seeing a need for more neighborhood information, so they partnered with Yelp. Now, consumers can see what businesses are surrounding the home and how others have rated those businesses. Warner said their focus is on immediate lead capture.
All agreed that agents should have a mobile optimized Website and show their clients that they are a tech-saavy brand doing more to get a listing out to the world.
Here are some additional highlights from the panel:
RIM (Blackberry) holds 40% of the smart phone market
iPhone will continue to gain with a strong showing from Android
Internet surfing on a mobile phone will surpass traditional internet surfing
180,000 paid applications are downloaded per day
Look how far we have come…1973 the first cell phone launched and in 1981 we saw the first laptop-at 24 pounds.
