From Part Time Agent to $90+ Million

Jessica Hargis, of the Jessica Hargis Group, started real estate as a part-time agent and eventually grew her business into a 31-member team, closing more than $90 million in twelve months.

Prior to starting her real estate career, Hargis worked in the transportation industry for 10 years where she polished her many skills. Most notably, learning how to negotiate multi-million-dollar contracts. Now, as a real estate agent, she has discovered her passion.

Licensed in 2009, Hargis started selling real estate part time as secondary income. Within four years, she became a full time agent and decided she needed to make a brokerage change to build a successful real estate team.

Hargis left Coldwell Banker and joined Keller Williams Realty in June 2013. “I knew that I had to go the team route,” she says. “Keller Williams understood the team concept and they taught me how to build and manage a team. Nobody else does this.”

In just a few years of joining the company, Hargis has amassed a team of agents in multiple markets in Texas including Rockwall, Allen, North Dallas, Lake Cities and a remote agent in Tarrant County. Her placement in various areas is strategic.

“Many families stay within Dallas Fort Worth but relocate to a different county,” Hargis says. “Because the region is sprawling, we have several offices in multiple counties, which we feel best serves our clientele and area. This is our local expert advantage.”

Hargis credits the power of social media marketing as being one of the most successful client communications for her team. “We embrace innovative, tech-savvy marketing,” she says.

The team combines their social media messages with print, video and broadcast pieces, which create a cohesive brand message consistently delivered to the target audience. “Our listings all have a virtual tour, YouTube video and an exclusive individual webpage,” Hargis says. Hargis credits these strong marketing campaigns as one of the reasons that, in 2015 her team’s listings were on the market for an average of 28 days and sold for 97.75 percent of list price.
